Danica Brinkman, a senior at Trabuco Hills High in California, placed second in the girls varsity championship race at the South Coast League finals at Irvine Regional Park. Brinkman covered the 3-mile layout in 17:15.5 to secure runner-up honors for the second year in a row. She helped Trabuco Hills finish second by a 38-48 margin against Dana Hills.
